Editor’s Note

Janet Freeman | 11.24.09 | Editor's Notes, Vol2, Issue2 - Fall/Winter 2009

It’s that time again, and I couldn’t be more excited to announce our latest issue. In it, Royce Clay Slape recounts a harrowing episode from his memoir Are You My Son? and Sandy Tanaka has penned a spellbinding story that’ll have you racing end to start to find out what happens (you’ll see what I mean!). And be sure to check out Nathan Bransford’s “Ten Commandments for the Happy Writer.” It’ll make you blush.

I’m also thrilled to re-introduce Zoe Francesca, whose poems were featured in our spring ‘09 issue. We loved them so much we asked her to stay on as our poetry editor, and lucky for us she agreed! In addition to her imperial eye for language and its discontents, Zoe brings to the fold previous experience with literary magazines, including stints at Oyster Boy Review and On the Page. Welcome, Zoe!

Lastly, a big thanks to everyone who came to our October reading and art show at Powell’s. The event was a huge success, one we hope to soon replicate. Revisit the good times at our blog: http://roughcopymag.wordpress.com or on Facebook.

Happy reading!

Janet
